  • My Clinching Proof of God - Scientific and Mathematical

    Evolution?
Certainly, through various scientific methods of experimentation and observation, the basic theory of evolution is, in fact, valid. But evolution cannot, in any means, be the source of life, as people often make it out to be. Evolution does exist however.
Animals and humans alike all adapt to their surroundings - often the changes in the animal kingdom can be quite drastic. This is the theory of evolution at work. The findings of Darwin from his studies of the Galapagos Islands are indeed valid and are scientifically accurate.
But it cannot be the source of life as we know it.

Body systems are so incredibly complicated and intricate, it is impossible for them to have evolved over time from simpler systems. The organs that make up a body system certainly cannot sustain themselves, or even function, without all of the other organs doing their part as well. Any creature would die if it did not have a heart - or a liver - or a kidney - or a spleen, all working in synchronous harmony. Life is irreducibly complex. In order for animals to reproduce and sustain themselves, they must function perfectly on their own. It is simply not possible for evolution to be the source of life.

So where DID life originate from?

Let's take the big bang theory--the precursor to life-originating evolution--and let's say, for this essay's sake, that it is correct. Any plausible theory that makes any logical since involves matter, some way or another, as the world as we know it is composed of matter. This matter is changed, moved, morphed, or arranged somehow and *poof* we have that magical spark that is life, and from there on out, we have what we have today.
Now think for a moment... where did that matter originate from? Where did the energy necessary for any kind of movement, reaction, etc. come from? It had to have been created/placed there somehow. But matter cannot generate more matter from itself or cause itself into being. Nor can energy. So where did it come from?
The only logical explanation is a something else. And that something else must be created by something else. This infinite loop is the only answer.

Let's get a bit more technical with this. In mathematical terms, everything must have started from something. Zero cannot by multiplied in any way to equal anything but itself, zero. This proves that there most have been something here to begin with which could generate this matter. Something is infinitely greater than nothing. Zero cannot equal Infinity. Infinity equals infinity - nothing else can. There is no other logical explanation. So our universe originated from an infinity. But what is this infinity?
    This infinity is a Creator.
But who created this Creator then?

Infinity is, by it's nature, only capable of rendering infinity. The Creator is not only infinite, He is infinitely infinite. His infinity is the source of his Infiniteness. He is the source of His own power, the "perfectly efficient machine", and the end of the equation. He is the infinite beginning and the infinite end to all things, and the only logical explanation.
This is a Creator who is omnipotent, omniscient, an omniinfinite. A Creator who is infinite in majesty, power, and grace. The epitome of infinite perfection.

    This is God.
And that is why I call him Lord.
And that is why I have devoted my life to bring glory unto his name.
  • Alternative Paths of Thought

Our culture promotes self-exaltation above all else.
Girls are taught to flaunt their bodies for attention while men are taught that women are merely objects of pleasure. Gay man are often looked down upon, while lesbian women are often praised. When a man gets a girl pregnant, he is looked up to, while the woman who is pregnant is looked down upon.
    Why is this?
Media programs and corporations tell people to love themselves and not others - to indulge themselves and to seek fulfillment in life through material goods, ego-boosting, and sexual adventures. Certainly, these things, in and of themselves, will often leave people with temporary, empty satisfaction. But in the end, only leave disparity. This only further proves God's total reign over us, and how helpless we all are without his love.
Corporations are not the only ones to blame though, the people are just as much to blame.
These corporations are built from people. The people are inherently selfish and are trying to make as much money as possible, therefore the companies are going to reflect that.
People are taught by the media to embrace people with different lifestyles than them (ie homosexuals), while they are taught that religious groups are close-minded groups that brainwash you (and this is often the case).

And this seems to be how Christianity is viewed as well. People will 'pray' and read their Bibles all in vain because it is what they are told is what is the 'right thing to do'. Life is not a magical formula of rituals that we much complete in order to be complete. Buddhism, Hinduism, and Catholicism all preach this message.
No wonder people think that the Church is a cult.

Keep in mind, please, that I am generalizing here, as that is necessary for writings such as these.

The root of ALL of the problems in this world is selfishness. Period. Even those of the church.

The message of some Baptist churches is that God is begging every human being alive to accept him as their savior, but what kind of savior is that? If God has no dominion over his people then he isn't much of a God, now is he? If people were to choose God in and of themselves, then the act of accepting God as one's eternal savior would in itself be an act of selfishness, as it would only be to live eternally.

Calvinism seems, to me, to be the right way to think. People do not choose God, selfishly. God chooses the people who he will lead to choose him. God presents himself to his chosen people, and only then will people recognize their true need of him and accept him as their eternal savior. Only then will they see the irresistible grace of God and cling upon him.
  • A mission?

    Why Are We Here?

Anyone who shares my beliefs and philosophy will agree with me that the reason we are here is simple:
    To glorify God.

But how do we go about this? By going to college and getting degrees?

If THE REASON WE EXIST is to gloify the Lord, then we should DEDICATE OUR LIVES to glorifying him...

The human sence of productivity seems to be fairly flawed to me. We go to school, we get degrees, we aise families, we get jobs, we gossip amongst one another, we discuss political issues, and we debate religious opinions. But what does all of that accomplish in the end? Nothing. In the grand scheme of things, it looks, to me, as though we are cheifly aiming to serve ourselves, not God.
In one sence, I feel like we should drop everything and totally cast all of our needs upon God (in a way, we should do this). But I mean EVERYTHING... just sit back and let God nourish us and our every physical need.
Obviously, this is impossible, but it seems as though that was God's original intent. But man, in or fallen nature, sinned and God punished us by requiring us to work the ground for food.
OK, so we need to work to sustain ourselves in order to glorify God... there's no getting out of that.
But why only work to make money to raise money for a family? Certianly, we can glorify God in near all things we do... but why not embrace him in all things we do? Why not transform our ENTIRE EXISTANCE to him and him only him?

I believe this is God's plan for me thus far:
Glorify him in ALL I do.
Raise a family, and bring them up in His service.
Share his love for me with others.

Going to college almost seems like a selfish act. It will allow me to make money to raise my family. But that's all. I'm currently planning on getting the degree just as something to fall back on.

As I begin my college education this fall, I am about to embark on a new journey into a world where I am free to make my own choices and decisions. I could do anything: become a preist, a theologan, a constructuion worker, or a serial killer. What am I going to do? And, more imortantly, Why? I could get a degree in Computer Science and use my immulate ability to push buttons and move styli to make money for myself to raise a family. But I love exploring the mind... I could become a therapist or a psychologist. I could help others while doing this. I could study philosophy.
These things seem a bit more imortant than working on a computer. Art seems so much more significant. I could be a social worker. I could study the world and the wonderful nature he has provided us to further my faith in Him. I could become a digital artist and use my artwork to show His Love to others. I am best at praising the Lord with my drumming. I could pursue a career as a percussionist. I could continue my experimentations with music theory and make more transe music.

Yet, with all things considered, I am considering becoming a missionary.
  • Lust.

okay, so I am going to finish the thought that I was originally meaning to write about in my last blog... concerning modesty and looking at the other side of things.

When we think about the problem of lust, we generally assosciate it with people dressing immodestly and other people looking at them.

While this is a problem to a certain extent, I have come across another way to look at this:

We simply need to change our view and break free from our cultural training that makes us think that bodies are made to be started at and lusted after. While giving in to these desires is lustful, having this training present in our minds at all is also lustful. The human body is a work of art and is not something that is viewed as a possission to be owned. We should not struggle with lusting after another person's body in the first place because whether or not we engage in the lust, the lust is still present. We need to reshape and renew our thinking in a whole new way.

    Expect further editing on this.
  • Modesty, Femenism, and Radical Centrism

One of my favorite philosophical concepts is simply looking at things from another point of view...

I was reading an excellent article in a Christian Counter-Culture magazine entitled "Uncompressed", published by the students of Calvin College. The article was about modesty.

    Modesty.

What is the first thing that comes to mind?

    Now... hold that thought.

First, let's take a look at the 'big picture'.

In our commercialized, sex-soaked economy, there is, obviously, a very low standard of modesty, as companies are continually pushing the envelope to maximize profit. I.e. The more skin a model shows in a commercial, the more people are attracted to buy the product. While this certainly poses a problem, I have recently come to realize that the corporations are not the main cause of this growing problem.

It's us: The people. (And yes, the Christians too)

We are the ones who buy into what these companies give us. We are the ones who exhibit interest in the sexual propaganda in the first place, and we continue to do so. The companies are not innocent; they prey on our weaknesses. But we are the ones who give into our own weaknesses. While we are both separate groups 'profiting' from each other, all we are really doing is continually taking advantage of each other to maximize each other’s ego (whether it be a company's amount of profit, or a person's level of self indulgence).

Now let's take this to a more personal level.

Women will dress provocatively in order to get attention from men, right? Generally, dressing immodestly is an act that is near always associated with women and women only. But men do this too: look at WWE. Women lust just as much as men do, only in a different way.
Often, women give into their desires for attention by dressing immodestly. This is lust just as much as the men looking at them is.

Men and Women are both equally the root of these modesty problems.

By stating that men are the problem, I am labeled as a feminist. By stating that women are the problem, I am labeled the opposite. Why must we have these two extremes? I prefer the third way:
I'm more of a radical centrist.

Our culture is so very sexist in nature.
Men will talk amongst themselves about how stupid women can be, while women will say that all men are sex-hungry wolves. Why do we do this?

Women need to change the way that they view men in their minds and men need to change the way that they view women in their minds.

The companies are not the source of the problem; the are a contribution. consumers are not the source of the problem either, they are a contribution.

    Excerpted from afore-mentioned article:
In Japan, Geishas are sensual because they reveal the backs of their necks. Some Islamic women feel most comfortable wearing the nigab, which covers all but their hands. Other cultures, such as Australian aborigines and traditional African tribes, condone all but genital nudity. If our reaction to the human body is a result of cultural training, we all should be making efforts to relearn how to view the human body, rather than placing the responsibility solely on women to conform to vague expectations about what is “safe” to wear.

There is a point where being being free-minded is no longer being simply open to other opinions and points of view. There is a point where you must search on your own.
